2026-2027 Technical Growth and Capture Intern/Co-op Verified today
The Role
Join Advanced Space's Growth and Capture team as a Technical Growth and Capture Intern/Co-op. You'll support the business development effort that wins new work for lunar and cislunar missions. This is not an engineering design role; instead, you'll apply technical knowledge to help shape and win customer pursuits.
You'll learn how a mission goes from a customer's problem to a signed contract, trained in our capture process from day one. You need the technical background to understand what our engineers do and explain why it matters to customers.
What You'll Do
- Build and maintain customer and opportunity records, tracking who our customers are, what they need, and where each pursuit stands
- Support Opportunity Leads to move pursuits from first contact through proposal and award
- Qualify opportunities using structured methods to assess decision makers, customer needs, and win probability
- Research customers, programs, budgets, and competitors to help shape strategy
- Prepare for conferences and customer meetings, then capture and route learnings
- Support proposals and contract packages, including compliance checks, schedules, reviews, and submissions
- Translate customer and technical discussions into clear notes and follow-up actions
Who We're Looking For
- Pursuing or nearing completion of a bachelor's or master's degree in engineering
- Demonstrated interest in business, shown through your actions and experience
- Clear writer comfortable speaking with customers and senior engineers
- U.S. citizen able to obtain a U.S. Government security clearance
- Available to work on-site at our Westminster, Colorado headquarters (not remote)
- Can start January 2027 or June 2027 for at least one semester
- Take ownership and solve challenges with your team
Bonus Experience
- Aerospace or systems engineering background
- Coursework or projects in orbital mechanics, small spacecraft, or mission operations
- Student organization leadership, business minor, sales or customer-facing work, startup or competition team experience
- Full-time availability during spring semester co-op (flexible if you have classes)
How Success Is Measured
- Keeping customer and opportunity records accurate and up to date
- Providing reliable, timely support to Opportunity Leads
- Producing useful research on customers, programs, budgets, and competitors
- Contributing to well-organized, compliant proposals and contract packages
- Learning and applying our capture process
- Demonstrating capability as a future full-time Opportunity Lead
Compensation
- Paid position: $21 to $27 per hour based on education level and experience
- Spring: full-time co-op preferred; flexible around class schedules
- Summer: full time
- After the term: potential to continue part time if still a student, or convert to full time if graduated
