Systems Engineer (2-5 yrs) Verified today
About the Role
Advanced Space is seeking a Systems Engineer with 2-5 years of experience to support a growing portfolio of space missions and projects. You'll contribute across the full systems engineering lifecycle, supporting mission formulation, requirements development, system architecture, integration, verification, validation, and mission operations. You'll work alongside multidisciplinary engineering teams to help turn mission concepts into reliable, flight-ready systems.
You'll have the opportunity to contribute to real space missions while working across spacecraft subsystems, including communications, Guidance, Navigation & Control (GNC), Attitude Determination and Control Systems (ADCS), propulsion, Fault Detection, Isolation & Recovery (FDIR), and Electrical Power Systems (EPS). You'll also support mission planning, technical trade studies, system integration and testing, and customer deliverables.
What You'll Do
- Support mission and systems engineering development, including planning, design, and development of system and mission requirements. Contribute to mission formulation, system architecture development, and technical assessments throughout the project lifecycle.
- Develop and manage system requirements. Help develop, document, and manage system requirements while supporting verification and validation activities. Contribute to verification strategies and ensure technical requirements remain aligned with mission objectives and system performance.
- Support system integration, verification, and testing. Develop system integration and test plans and procedures, participate in test execution, and document results. Support system engineering milestone reviews, including SRR, PDR, CDR, TRR, and other program reviews.
- Contribute to spacecraft design and trade studies involving communications, GNC, ADCS, propulsion, FDIR, EPS, and other spacecraft subsystems. Help evaluate design options and understand their impacts on overall mission performance.
- Define and manage system interfaces. Support interface definition and development of Interface Control Documents (ICDs) for spacecraft and ground systems. Work with multidisciplinary teams to ensure interfaces are clearly defined and integrated across the system.
- Collaborate across engineering teams and with customers throughout the project lifecycle. Communicate technical information clearly and contribute to design discussions, reviews, presentations, and customer deliverables.
- Support mission operations and future mission development, including operational planning, anomaly resolution, and coordination with operations teams. Participate in mission concept studies and architecture development for future space missions.
- Improve systems engineering processes and Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) practices. Help develop tools, workflows, and processes that make the team more effective.

- Experience developing and managing system requirements, verification, and validation activities.
- Familiarity with systems engineering processes and lifecycle development.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and technical communication skills.
- Ability to collaborate effectively across multidisciplinary engineering teams and communicate with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Comfort managing multiple technical tasks, adapting to evolving requirements, and exercising sound engineering judgment.
- Self-motivation, initiative, and ability to work independently while contributing to broader team objectives.
- Passion for space exploration and commitment to contributing to missions that advance the exploration, development, and settlement of space.
