The role

You'll be an experienced systems administrator protecting critical information, systems, and assets. You'll build solutions, implement new software and hardware, provide training, and help develop overall IT strategy. From the start, you'll lead initiatives and take ownership of challenging assignments supporting breakthrough innovations.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain, configure, and ensure reliable operation of computer systems, network servers, and virtualization
  • Install and upgrade computer components and software; manage virtual servers and integrate automation processes
  • Troubleshoot hardware and software errors, document problems and resolutions, and assess impact of issues
  • Provide documentation and technical specifications to IT staff for planning and implementing new IT infrastructure or upgrades
  • Perform or delegate regular backup operations and implement data protection, disaster recovery, and failover procedures
  • Lead desktop and helpdesk support, resolving desktop applications, workstations, and equipment problems promptly
  • Manage capacity planning, storage, and database performance

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field
  • System administration and IT certifications in Linux, Microsoft, or network-related fields (preferred)
  • Working knowledge of VMware virtualization
  • Strong knowledge of systems and networking software, hardware, and networking protocols
  • Experience with scripting and automation tools
  • Proven track record developing and implementing IT strategy and plans
  • Expert knowledge of security, storage, data protection, and disaster recovery protocols
