The Role

AnySignal is developing next-generation RF products and services for space and defense missions. We're hiring an Embedded Software Engineer to develop the software that controls and operates our ground antenna systems.

This role sits at the intersection of software and electromechanical systems. You will develop software that controls antenna motion, motors, actuators, sensors, and other components, integrate new electrical and mechanical systems into the ground software stack, and work closely with mechanical, electrical, RF, and software engineers to build and operate reliable ground systems.

Responsibilities

  • Develop software that supports the operation and integration of ground antenna systems
  • Develop reliable, low-level software for controlling motors, actuators, sensors, and other electromechanical components
  • Build and maintain interfaces between software and ground-station systems using low-level communication protocols
  • Integrate and test new electrical and mechanical systems with the antenna software stack
  • Troubleshoot software and electromechanical behavior across integrated systems
  • Develop automated tests and tools to validate antenna control software and system performance
  • Work closely with mechanical, electrical, RF, and software engineers to bring new ground-station capabilities into operation
  • Support the deployment and reliable operation of ground antenna systems in the field

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field
  • Strong software development experience in Python
  • Strong experience developing software in Embedded Linux environments
  • Experience with networking and software communication protocols
  • Professional experience developing and debugging software that integrates with motors, actuators, servos, encoders, sensors, controllers, or other electromechanical systems
  • Experience developing and debugging low-level interfaces and communication protocols
  • Experience with test automation and software validation
  • Ability to work cross-functionally with software, electrical, mechanical, and RF engineers

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience developing software in C or C++
  • Experience with RF systems, satellite communications, or ground-station systems
  • Experience deploying or supporting integrated software/electromechanical systems in field environments
  • Experience with GNU Radio or similar software-defined radio frameworks

Compensation

Base salary range: $130,000 to $200,000 per year, plus equity. Final salary depends on qualifications, relevant experience, skills, and market considerations.
