Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced ATE RF engineer to develop and commission high-end test and validation systems for AST SpaceMobile's space communication platforms. You will own all DFM and DFT inputs to the R&D team, implement RF ATE architecture and commissioning procedures, measure and report RF KPIs, and troubleshoot RF test equipment. You will bridge production, ATE R&D and engineering teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Bring up and commission RF ATEs for space communication platforms
- Qualify and verify RF ATE operation according to spec and requirements
- Report on anomalies, outliers, exceptions and issues in routine and timely manner
- Track trends of RF KPIs and identify potential risks
- Hands-on calibration, qualification, and troubleshooting in alignment with ATE and R&D teams
- Cross-collaborate with Production, ATE and Hardware R&D teams
- Continuously improve development and test workflows
Required Experience and Skills
- 5+ years of RF communication and RADAR equipment testing
- At least 3+ years hands-on working with RF lab test equipment and ATE
- Strong knowledge of RF test methodologies
- Hands-on experience with VNA, analysers and signal generators
- RF test methods for Gain, Loss, flatness, Noise Figure, Intermodulation and linearity
- B.Sc in Engineering or related field
- Self-managed, independent with strong sense of ownership and execution
- Excellent communication and collaboration abilities
Work Location
Lab work at Midland, Texas. Office-based at least 4 days per week plus 1 remote day.
