Position Overview
AST SpaceMobile is building the first global cellular broadband network in space, designed to operate directly with standard mobile devices. We are seeking a one-year intern to support Block 1 and Block 2 activities in Micron validation and software integration testing.
Key Responsibilities
- Define and execute system-level tests related to RF, baseband, PHY, and RFIC performance.
- Specify hardware and software requirements for the silicon business unit.
- Ensure readiness for pre-silicon and hardware validation phases, including setup, automation, analysis, methodologies, and exit criteria.
- Collaborate with system architecture teams to achieve optimal silicon performance.
- Partner with software teams on register configurations, calibration, and workflow optimization.
Required Qualifications
- Hands-on experience with RF test equipment: spectrum analyser, signal generator, vector signal analyser, network analyser, oscilloscope.
- Strong knowledge of digital communications: DAC, ADC, IQ modulation, IQ imbalance, DPD, AGC, EVM.
- Expertise in deep dive debugging with focus on RF, hardware, and PHY aspects.
- Strong problem-solving skills with pragmatic approach and broad system-level perspective.
- B. Tech or M. Tech Engineering degree with GPA 80+ or equivalent.
Preferred Qualifications
- Minimum 1 year RF or validation experience.
- Coding and automation experience for RF testing: MATLAB, C#, C, Python.
- Knowledge of LTE 3GPP, CDMA, GSM, and 5G standards.
- Python and LabVIEW development skills.
