Assembly, Integration, and Test Technician
As an Assembly Integration and Test Technician, you will be responsible for assembling and testing satellite components, subassemblies, and fully integrated vehicles. The role requires both electrical and mechanical integration work to assemble the spacecraft as well as assisting with pneumatic and electrical testing.
Responsibilities
- Assemble and test spacecraft and ground support equipment
- Assemble and integrate spacecraft using engineering models and procedures, including structural parts, mechanisms, RF waveguides, antennas, electronic boxes, harnesses, coax cables, and thermal blankets
- Maintain paperwork including work instructions, connector mate logs, and test logs
- Set up, adjust, and calibrate standard test equipment to conduct functional and environmental testing using test procedures
- Perform spacecraft lifting and handling operations
- Perform spacecraft testing of communications, telemetry and command, thermal, power, and propulsion subsystems per applicable procedures
- Operate subassembly and spacecraft pressure test consoles
- Collaborate with Production engineers to develop and document build procedures
Requirements
- 2+ years of fundamental experience in assembly, manufacturing or maintenance
- Ability to interpret technical drawings, test plans, and work to procedures
- Ability to perform spacecraft integration tasks in clean room environment
- Ability to operate cranes, man lifts, tugs and handling equipment
- Experience working with general hand tools and torque wrenches
- Familiar with Windows style PC operating systems
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Physical capability for climbing ladders, standing for long durations, grasping, sitting, pulling, and bending
- Must be able to lift at least 25 lbs unassisted
- Willing and able to work all shifts, overtime, and weekends as required
- Willing and able to travel to support off-site launch site processing and environmental testing
Bonus Experience
- Aerospace industry background
- Handling and integrating space flight components and spacecraft environmental testing
- Pneumatics or hydraulics experience
- Operating cranes, man lifts, forklifts, and handling equipment
- Electrical test equipment use (multimeters, oscilloscopes, power supplies, spectral analyzers)
- Environmental testing experience including vibration, shock, thermal, burn-in, and TVAC
Work Expectations
50 hours per week. First and second shift availability required.
Compensation
Base hourly pay: $30-$40 USD. Compensation package includes equity via incentive stock options, company-subsidized healthcare, disability and life insurance, 401(k) retirement planning, flexible PTO, and free on-site catered meals.
