The Role
As an electrical engineer on the Avionics team, you will design the flight hardware that forms the backbone of our satellite's internal communication, power distribution, sensor aggregation, and flight computer systems. You'll take ownership of the full lifecycle for your hardware designs and work collaboratively across the organization to develop creative solutions that push the envelope of satellite technology.
What You'll Do
- Design circuits and PCBs for various spacecraft subsystems
- Characterize, test, and validate hardware systems across the spacecraft
- Work within a multidisciplinary team to architecture, design, and execute satellite avionics
- Assist in recruiting, interviewing, and hiring additional teammates to our rapidly-growing team
Requirements
- B.S. or M.S. in electrical or computer engineering, or equivalent technical degree
- 2+ years experience in PCB/hardware design
- Passion for hardware development in a fast-paced environment with hands-on design and development
- Demonstrated ability to personally design, build, and test hardware from scratch
- Strong analog/mixed-signal circuit design skills
- Experience debugging circuits with embedded software, from oscilloscope to firmware
Nice to Have
- Experience with FPGAs, microcontrollers, and communication schemes (RS-485, SPI, Ethernet, I2C)
- Experience with C, C++, or Python
- Radiation effects knowledge
- Environmental test experience
Compensation and Benefits
Base salary: $105,000 to $165,000 USD. Compensation package includes equity via incentive stock options, company-subsidized healthcare, disability and life insurance, 401(k) retirement planning, flexible PTO, and free on-site catered meals.
