The Role
This is a 12-week salaried position for recent bachelor's degree holders or current post-graduate students. You will work on interdisciplinary teams tackling hard problems of equal importance to full-time projects. Many past associates have designed hardware and software now in space.
- Design, build, and test satellite hardware and software with interdisciplinary teams
- Work with Electrical, Mechanical, Radio Frequency, and Propulsion engineering teams
- Develop assembly, integration, and environmental test plans and procedures
- Operate test equipment including thermal chambers, vibration tables, DAQs, and oscilloscopes
- Coordinate assembly, integration, and environmental testing efforts
- Debug complex electrical, software, and mechanical problems in integrated systems
Requirements
- Four-year degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent technical discipline
- Graduated within the last 6 months or currently enrolled in a post-graduate program
- Passion for hardware development in fast-paced environments
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize
- Strong communication skills
- Onsite 5 days a week in San Francisco
- U.S. citizenship, lawful permanent residency, or refugee/asylee status (ITAR compliance)
Bonus Qualifications
- Hands-on experience designing, building, and testing complex electrical systems
- Python experience for test equipment interfacing, data processing, and visualization
- Direct electrical or software design experience
- Demonstrated ability to debug hardware and software problems under time pressure
Compensation
Base salary: $1,925 per week.
