Power Electronics Engineering Manager

As Engineering Manager for the Power Electronics team, you will build and lead a team of power electronics engineers. You'll support the team in advancing geostationary spacecraft power design and enable performance in space that has not been realized to date.

What you'll do

  • Directly manage and grow a team of junior and senior power engineers
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to define spacecraft power requirements and architectures
  • Oversee the design, build, and implementation of power converters and systems
  • Manage detailed schedules to ensure power converter and systems development stays aligned with overall program schedules
  • Drive power converter design, specification, component selection, circuit board design, implementation, verification, board bring-up, and debugging
  • Support recruiting, interviewing, and hiring additional team members
  • Support production and mission operations teams on build and in-flight use of power converter hardware

What you'll need

  • B.S. or higher in electrical engineering or similar technical degree
  • 5+ years of professional experience with fast-paced product design cycles
  • 5+ years of board-level experience designing power electronics hardware from concept through production
  • Passion for hardware development, including hands-on design in fast-paced environments
  • Demonstrated ability to design, build, and test hardware from scratch
  • Demonstrated ability to build and manage teams of engineers and communicate clearly across disciplines
  • US Citizenship or Green Card

Compensation and benefits

Base salary: $160,000 to $215,000 USD
