About the Role
Axiom Space is seeking an EVA Systems Engineer (Levels II-V) to lead major testing campaigns and systems engineering for the AxEVA System. You will report to the EVA Systems Engineering and Integration Manager and work onsite in Webster, Texas.
What You Will Do
- Lead end-to-end systems engineering for Axiom EVA Systems, including suits, flight support equipment, training equipment, ground equipment, and EVA tools.
- Define concepts of operations, functions, interfaces, and subsystem-level requirements.
- Create and maintain procurement specifications, including synthesis, traceability, and derivation from stakeholder needs.
- Plan and execute verification and validation activities for EVA requirements and concepts of operations.
- Define system and subsystem V&V approaches, requirements, and implementation plans.
- Coordinate product breakdown structures and system architecture definition.
- Monitor design and testing progress, communicate issues, and manage changes to the AxEVA System.
- Develop waivers and document variances.
- Collaborate with subsystem engineers, program office, suppliers, and external customers on planning and execution.
- Capture V&V evidence, create verification closure notices, and coordinate requirement close-out.
- May involve support of 24/7 test operations at test facilities.
Requirements by Level
Level II: Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related technical field (ABET-accredited preferred). 2-6 years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Level III: Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related technical field (ABET-accredited preferred). 4-9 years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Level IV: Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree or Ph.D. in Engineering preferred. 7-12 years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Level V: Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree or Ph.D. in Engineering preferred. 10-16 years of experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Conditions
- Work environment is generally office-based but may involve inside or outside work depending on task.
- May involve support of 24/7 test operations.
- Work may involve sitting or standing for extended periods (90% of the time).

- Must be willing to work evenings and weekends as needed to meet critical project milestones.
