The Role

You will design, develop, and test embedded flight software for the Axiom Space Station. This position is onsite at our Space Station Development Facility in Webster, TX, reporting to the Flight Software Team Lead.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, test, integrate, and deploy embedded flight software solutions
  • Collaborate with subsystem engineers in propulsion, environmental control and life support systems (ECLSS), guidance navigation and control (GN&C), networks, datalinks, and power systems
  • Execute test plans and procedures in Hardware-in-the-Loop testbeds and support test automation for CI/CD
  • Integrate hardware simulation and fault injection solutions with avionics engineers
  • Participate in design and code reviews, giving and receiving productive feedback
  • Support milestone reviews including PDR, CDR, and SDR
  • Work in a fast-moving, ambiguous environment to solve hard problems proactively

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, or related technical discipline
  • 5 or more years developing code in C, C++, Rust, or Python in Linux, VxWorks, or other RTOS environments
  • Experience with git distribution (such as GitLab) and CI/CD tools
  • Experience with Serial, modbus, UDP, and TCP protocols
  • Demonstrated ability to work in ambiguous, fast-moving environments and meet tight deadlines
  • Strong organization and problem-solving skills with high quality results
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or U.S. permanent resident
  • Must be able to complete a U.S. government background investigation

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with spaceflight or other safety critical systems
  • Familiarity with containerization supporting Continuous Development/Continuous Integration pipelines on Linux systems

Work Environment
