What you will do
As an Aerospace Systems Engineer, you will design and engineer overall systems infrastructure, including implementation, integration, and technical support. You will work across complex aerospace projects and contribute to multiple aspects of systems engineering:
- Apply systems engineering to fluid, mechanical, propulsion and electrical systems including system definition, test, integration, safety, operations and verification.
- Decompose customer requirements into test system requirements specifications with bi-directional traceability.
- Develop and manage interfaces through requirements, Interface Control Documents (ICDs) and drawings.
- Lead and present at major gated reviews (SRR, PDR, CDR) on system technical readiness and Systems Engineering deliverables.
- Own verification and validation planning, traceability and completion through test plan creation and Test Readiness Reviews (TRRs).
- Establish and improve processes and procedures with your team.
Who you are
- Bachelor's degree in engineering or related technical field, earned within the last year.
- Experience with aerospace, mechanical, electrical or systems engineering on complex systems.
- Proven ability to break down complex problems into traceable tasks and communicate project status clearly.
- Relevant internship, co-op or hands-on experience demonstrating technical skills and leadership qualities.
- Able to earn trust, maintain positive relationships and strengthen a culture of inclusion.
- Able to work independently and as part of a team on rapid development programs.
- Flexible, adaptable mindset with self-driven approach and ability to seek requirements with minimal direction.
Desired qualifications
- Master's degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or related technical subject area.
- Experience with requirements management tools such as Jama.
- Experience with systems engineering modeling tools such as Rhapsody or Cameo.
- Experience with Model Based Systems Engineering.
- Experience with Flight Dynamics.
- Previous customer-facing roles with experience presenting to and directly interacting with customers.
Locations
Primary locations are Kent WA, Denver CO, Reston VA, and Cape Canaveral FL. We prioritize placing early-career engineers where they can be co-located with their team and relevant hardware.
Compensation and benefits
Base pay range varies by location:
- VA and WA: $99,201.00 - $138,880.35
- CO: $90,934.00 - $127,307.25
