Role Overview

As an Aerospace Systems Engineer I, you will design and engineer overall systems infrastructure including engineering, implementation, integration, and technical services. You'll work with teams to establish and improve processes and procedures across assigned projects.

What You Will Do

• Work on applied systems engineering including system definition, systems test, system integration, system safety, operations and system verification of fluid, mechanical, propulsion and electrical systems.
• Decompose internal customer requirements into test system requirements specifications with bi-directional traceability.
• Develop and manage interfaces through requirements and Interface Control Documents (ICDs) and drawings.
• Lead and present at major gated reviews (SRR, PDR, CDR) on system technical readiness and Systems Engineering deliverables status.
• Own verification and validation planning, traceability and completion through test plan creation and Test Readiness Reviews (TRRs).

Required Qualifications

• B.S. degree in engineering or another technical field, earned within the last year.
• Able to start by Fall 2027.
• Experience with Aerospace, Mechanical, Electrical, or Systems Engineering on complex systems.
• Ability to break down complex problems into traceable tasks and communicate project status concisely.
• Relevant internship, co-op, and/or hands-on experience demonstrating technical skills and leadership qualities.
• Ability to earn trust, maintain positive professional relationships, and strengthen a culture of inclusion.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team on rapid development programs.
• Flexible and adaptable mindset with self-driven approach to seeking requirements with minimal direction.

Desired Qualifications

• M.S. in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related technical subject area.
• Experience with requirements development/management tools such as Jama.
• Experience with systems engineering modeling tools, such as Rhapsody or Cameo.
• Experience with Model Based Systems Engineering.
• Experience with Flight Dynamics.
• Previous customer-facing roles with experience presenting to and directly interacting with customers.

Compensation

• Colorado applicants: $74,537.00 - $104,351.10
• Washington applicants: $81,313.00 - $113,837.85
• Other site ranges may differ

Employment Requirements

Applicants for employment at Blue Origin must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.

Background checks required for all positions. Defense Biometric Identification System (DBIDS) background check required if the role requires access to military installations. Additional requirements may apply depending on role type.
