Avionics Dev Lab Technician Level II Verified today
Join Blue Origin's Advanced Concepts and Enterprise Engineering (ACE) team as an Avionics Dev Lab Technician Level II. You will build and test avionics hardware used for flight and non-flight purposes, with direct impact on spaceflight vehicle development and production.
What You'll Do
- Assemble flight-grade avionics
- Test and qualify avionics
- Solder PCBAs and perform component-level board work
- Build wire harness and cable assemblies
- Integrate avionics and ground support hardware into electronics testbeds
What You Need
- 3+ years of experience in assembly of avionics, medical devices, or other safety-critical fields
- Experience with ESD prevention and controls
- Thorough understanding of basic electronics theory: voltage, resistance, current
- Ability to interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, mechanical drawings, and written assembly procedures
- Proficiency with basic electronic lab test equipment such as power supplies and handheld multimeters
- Experience with common hand tools including torque wrenches and screwdrivers
- Ability to lift 25 lbs
- Basic digital literacy and familiarity with Microsoft Office suite (Excel, Word)
- Good written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
- Strong analytical and organizational skills with attention to detail
Preferred Qualifications
- 2 year Associates degree in electrical or electronic engineering technology
- Current or expired certifications in PCBA inspection (IPC-A-610), harness assembly (IPC/WHMA-A-620), soldering (J-STD-001), or PCBA rework (IPC-7711/7721)
- Experience with 5S or LEAN Six Sigma
- Experience with HiPot harness testers
- Experience in staking and conformal coating
- Experience with potting
- Experience with high voltage systems or NFPA 70E training
- Experience with ANSI-ESD-S20.20
- Experience with AS9100
Work Schedule
Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM. Multiple positions available. Interviews will include a technical assessment requiring a computer.
Compensation and Benefits
Base pay range for Washington applicants: $29.91 to $41.87 per hour. Other site ranges may differ.
