Role Overview

You will join the Core Avionics organization within the Lunar Permanence Business Unit, developing avionics hardware for Blue Origin's Blue Moon landers. This role spans the entire product lifecycle from conception to sustainment, directly contributing to affordable, safe, and repeatable lunar spaceflight.

What You'll Do

You will work on development, manufacturing, and testing of Lunar Command and Data Handling (C&DH) and Power Management and Distribution (PMAD) components. Your responsibilities include:

  • Hardware build, integration, and test of Engineering Development Unit (EDU) and flight hardware
  • Developing product requirements and defining interfaces
  • Supporting verification and qualification activities
  • Conducting root cause analyses for hardware failures and developing mitigation plans
  • Requirements-based verification and test planning

Work Arrangement

  • On-site 5 days per week (primarily 1st shift Monday-Friday; some evening or weekend work required during test campaigns)
  • Travel up to 20% expected
  • Most work based in Kent, WA
  • Relocation provided

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in Electrical, Computer, Aerospace, or related field
  • Avionics hardware build and test experience
  • Complex hardware design experience in product design reviews (SRR, PDR, CDR)
  • Knowledge of requirements development and requirements-based verification
  • Familiarity with integrated systems verification, including hardware verification test plans and reports for certification/qualification
  • Must be U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident, or lawfully admitted refugee/asylee

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master of Science in Electrical or Computer Engineering, or related field
  • 6+ years proven track record in design, development, or test of space industry avionics components and systems
  • Experience developing digital, analog, and/or mixed-signal circuit board designs for avionics (design, prototyping, schematics, layout, test, verification)
  • Circuit analysis and simulation experience (worst-case analysis, signal integrity, logic or P-Spice simulation)
  • Grounding and board layout principles experience, including EMI/EMC tradeoffs
  • Jama or similar requirements management tools
  • MIL-STD/DO-160/SMC-S-016 environmental qualification testing experience
  • Familiarity with ARP 4754 and/or DO-254/DO-178 or similar standards
  • Product development lifecycle and hardware integration/verification experience

Compensation

Base pay range: Colorado $119,814.00 to $167,738.55; Washington $130,706.00 to $182,987.70. Other site ranges may differ.
