About the role
As an Avionics Quality Engineer in Blue Origin Operations, you will apply engineering techniques to evaluate product conformance and ensure quality across manufacturing and supply chain. You will work with specialists, technicians, and engineers to execute, optimize, and validate quality processes for products in development and production environments.
What you will do
- Establish, implement, maintain, and enforce quality system processes that support products in development and production environments.
- Measure, analyze, and improve quality system performance consistent with organization quality goals.
- Review and approve manufacturing build documents including work orders and nonconformance records.
- Perform periodic audits of the application of quality systems in accordance with AS9100.
- Participate in engineering design reviews and make recommendations to improve the quality and manufacturability of new designs.
- Conduct root cause analysis for defects, non-conformities, or quality failures.
- Recommend initiatives and changes that will improve product and system quality.
- Provide quality assurance domain expertise to inspection, manufacturing, and test teams.
- Collaborate with internal and external customers on quality related concerns; develop and present training materials to build quality awareness.
- Verify product and process conformance, nonconformance disposition, and hardware acceptance planning.
What you need
- B.S. in Engineering with 6 or more years of relevant quality experience.
- Quality experience in production environment. Aerospace, space launch, military or commercial aviation preferred.
- Familiarity with AS9100 or ISO9000 Quality Management Systems and related quality systems and programs.
- Excellent communication skills, organized, attention to detail, and self-starter.
- Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and contribute to a culture of inclusion.
- U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.
Preferred qualifications
- Knowledge of manufacturing fabrication processes such as avionics and harnessing.
- Knowledge of nonconforming and MRB process.
- Knowledge of First Article Inspection per AS9102.
- Knowledge of SPC principles.
- Knowledge of causal analysis tools, including cause and effect diagrams, FMEA, 5-why, fault tree analysis.
- Relevant experience in transitioning a product from development through production to operations.
- QMS audit experience and quality performance measurement analysis capabilities.
Work details
- Monday to Friday, days shift.

Compensation and benefits
Base pay range for WA applicants: $112,059.00 to $156,882.60. Other site ranges may differ.
