Role Overview

You will serve as the test engineer for one or more Electrical Power Systems products used across multiple vehicles supporting human lunar missions. You will partner directly with Responsible Engineers to define test strategies, develop test plans and procedures, and execute development, risk reduction, qualification, and acceptance test campaigns. You will work within a multi-disciplinary test team and interface with vehicle teams, NASA, and National Team Partners to ensure controllers meet performance, fault tolerance, and safety objectives.

Electrical Power System Products

  • Power Regulation
  • Power Distribution
  • Battery Systems
  • Solar Panels
  • Fuel Cell Technologies

Key Responsibilities

  • Own the test scope for one or more electrical power systems product as the lead test engineer, partnering with the Responsible Engineer to understand requirements, design intent, interfaces, and fault-tolerant behavior
  • Plan, write, and execute test plans and procedures for development, risk reduction, qualification, and acceptance testing
  • Support bench bring-up and early hardware characterization alongside the design team
  • Define and execute Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) test strategies where applicable
  • Support environmental test campaigns (thermal-vacuum, vibration, EMI/EMC) including test planning, procedure execution, and anomaly resolution
  • Drive verification closure by mapping test evidence to requirements, tracking open items, and ensuring test reports meet qualification standards
  • Identify, document, and track test anomalies through to resolution in coordination with the Responsible Engineer and broader team
  • Contribute to test infrastructure development including test equipment selection, test bed design, and ground support equipment (GSE) needs
  • Communicate test status, risks, and results clearly and support or lead technical reviews at appropriate milestones
  • Apply lessons learned and best practices across the controller family to improve test efficiency and reuse

Minimum Qualifications

  • B.S. or B.A. in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a relevant technical field
  • 5 or more years of hands-on experience testing and/or integrating electronic systems or devices
  • Sound understanding of electronics and electrical circuit fundamentals
  • Experience developing and executing test plans and procedures in a structured engineering environment
  • Experience with high power systems and deep understanding of electrical safety
  • Experience supporting or leading environmental qualification test campaigns (thermal, vibration, EMI/EMC, or equivalent)
  • Ability to read and interpret schematics, Interface Control Documents (ICDs), and requirements documents
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including documenting test results and supporting technical reviews

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with power regulation and distribution
  • Experience defining test and tester requirements
