Avionics Testbed Development Engineer – Lunar Vehicles Verified today
Role
As an Avionics Testbed Development Engineer, you will develop a Hardware in the Loop (HIL) testbed for Blue Moon lunar vehicles. You'll create test plans and procedures to verify the correctness and performance of avionics and ground support equipment for spaceflight systems. This position requires on-site work at Kent, WA due to hands-on requirements.
Responsibilities
- Participate in requirements, design, architecture, procurement, build, integration, and checkout of the Vehicle Test Bed (VTB)
- Support integration of flight avionics hardware, ground support equipment, operator consoles and analysis tooling within the VTB
- Generate interconnect diagrams for the testbed
- Create harness drawings and lead harness procurement activities
- Design rack hardware to support articles under test
- Support design and development of Special Test Equipment (STE) and integrate Ground Support Equipment (GSE) to simulate and stimulate Articles Under Test (AUTs)
- Collaborate with software engineers to integrate hardware simulation and fault injection solutions with real-time vehicle simulations
Required Qualifications
- B.S. in electrical engineering, aerospace engineering, mechanical engineering, computer science or related technical discipline
- 5+ years of relevant experience
- Experience integrating and testing vehicle test beds or vehicle electrical systems
- Experience developing special electronic test equipment and troubleshooting equipment
- Experience with Zuken or other electrical design software
- Experience designing test harnessing
- Proficient in standard electronic lab test and troubleshooting equipment
- Ability to thrive as a member of a small, tightly integrated team
- Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
Desired Qualifications
- M.S. degree in electrical engineering, aerospace engineering, mechanical engineering, computer science or related technical discipline
- 7+ years of relevant experience
- Experience with development and execution of large-scale verification of avionics on autonomous spaceflight systems
- Experience supporting testbeds for spaceflight systems
- Experience programming in C++ and/or Python
- Simulink experience
Compensation
Base pay range for WA applicants: $121,023.00 - $169,432.20
