Join the In-Space Systems business unit focused on space infrastructure and on-orbit mobility. As a Systems Engineer in Mission Systems Engineering, Integration and Test, you will define, capture and manage mission-specific system requirements and verification artifacts for Blue Ring Spacecraft missions.

You will work at spacecraft mission and system level using modern MBSE and requirements management standards. Report to the Mission SEIT Requirements, Verification and MBSE Architecture Director. This role grows with the product line through multiple missions and objectives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with Mission Lead Systems Engineers, Spacecraft Systems Engineering, Flight Software, Payload and Mission Integration, and Ground Systems Engineering Teams to define system requirements in a model-based environment across multiple customers and missions
  • Engage with internal and external customers including government agencies and contractors to analyze unique customer and mission requirements
  • Perform as lead Requirements and Verification Systems Engineer for specific Blue Ring missions, including requirement decomposition, derivation, and allocation
  • Develop and manage requirement specifications with accurate flow-down and traceability across internal and external interfaces
  • Define relationships and traceability between requirements, design parameters, technical budgets, ICDs, program plans, and technical performance measures
  • Establish verification approaches and plans for system requirements and identify Integration and Test activities for requirements selloff
  • Manage acquisition of verification data across organizational boundaries to demonstrate compliance
  • Perform compliance and traceability assessments and report key metrics and issues to program leadership

Minimum Qualifications

  • B.S. degree in engineering or equivalent technical field
  • Experience with requirements management tools such as DOORS, Jama
  • 3+ years of Systems Engineering experience in requirements definition, traceability, interface definition, design documentation, integration, verification, and validation
  • Understanding of Systems Engineering lifecycle and the Systems Engineering V
  • Proven problem-solving skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Active US Government Top Secret / Sensitive Compartmented Information (TS/SCI) Clearance

Preferred Qualifications

  • Spacecraft operations and command and control system experience with spacecraft and ground-system interfaces or spacecraft communications uplink and downlink technologies
  • Familiarity with Model-Based Systems Engineering
  • System Modeling tools such as Cameo Systems Modeler, Enterprise Architect, MagicDraw, or Rhapsody
  • Experience across product life cycle from pre-conceptual design through operational support
  • Software or scripting language experience
  • Knowledge of collaboration tools such as Confluence and JIRA
  • Familiarity with formal risk and opportunity management processes
  • Master's degree in Systems Engineering, Systems Architecture or related discipline

Compensation and Benefits

Compensation range for WA applicants: $99,201.00 to $138,880.35. Other site ranges may differ.
