The Role

You will setup, operate, and maintain CNC machines to fabricate components for spaceflight systems. Working as part of a team of machinists, NC programmers, and technicians, you will be responsible for producing accurate components that enable first article success on tight tolerance, high-value parts.

This team owns the entire turbo machinery value stream for Blue Origin's BE-7 engines.

What You'll Do

  • Setup and operate a variety of CNC machines and equipment
  • Fabricate components to tight tolerances for spaceflight systems
  • Provide design for manufacturing feedback
  • Contribute to safe and repeatable spaceflight operations
  • Share impact on all aspects of CNC machining and fabrication

Minimum Qualifications

  • 5+ years of CNC machining experience
  • 2+ years' experience with multi-axis machines, OR 15+ years manual/tool and die experience
  • Excellent blueprint reading skills including GD&T per ASME Y14.5M-1994 standard
  • Working knowledge of Fanuc, Siemens, OSP, or other CNC controls
  • Experience with one or more of the following CNC machines: Mazak, Haas, DMG Mori, Mori Seiki, Hermle, G+F, or Okuma
  • Familiar with use of personal computers
  • Ability to climb ladders, stairs, work in small/restricted areas, and lift/carry 25 lbs

Desired Qualifications

  • CAM programming experience, preferably NX 10 through 2306
  • Tooling and fixture design
  • Multi-axis turning experience
  • Mill-turn experience
  • Outside processing knowledge including heat treat, brazing, EB/laser welding, EDM, grinding
  • CMM programming/operation experience
  • Conversational programming on the machine
  • Experience operating heavy lifting equipment such as cranes and forklifts

Shifts Available

  • A Shift: Monday through Thursday, 5am to 3:30pm
  • B Shift: Monday through Thursday, 3pm to 1:30am
