About the role

This position is part of the Lunar Permanence business unit, which develops Blue Origin's Blue Moon landers and related products. You will design, build, and commission Electrical Ground Support Equipment (EGSE) for the support vehicle to the Mk2 Lunar lander, which will land astronauts on the moon. In a fast-paced environment, you will develop hardware that supports vehicle integration, test, and launch operations to ensure multiple safe and successful lunar landings.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the development of individual racks and other equipment from requirements definition to design, build, test, and operation
  • Support EGSE procurement efforts
  • Collaborate with software engineers to integrate hardware control and communication systems
  • Work with vehicle subsystem engineers and electrical test engineers to understand EGSE needs

Required qualifications

  • B.S. in electrical engineering, aerospace engineering, mechanical engineering, computer science, or related technical field
  • 5 or more years of applicable experience
  • Experience designing circuit card assemblies, test cable harnesses, and equipment enclosures
  • Ability to lift and install cabling, junction boxes, and other electrical equipment
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Experience with electronic test equipment (multi-meters, oscilloscopes, loads, network analyzers, BERT, DAQ, etc.)

Desired qualifications

  • M.S. in electrical engineering, aerospace engineering, mechanical engineering, computer science, or related technical field
  • 8 or more years of applicable experience
  • Experience with spacecraft, aircraft, or launch vehicle integration and test
  • Experience with Rational DOORS and Rational Quality Manager
  • Experience with Creo, Altium, AutoCAD Electrical, and/or Windchill PDM
