Electrical Design Engineer, Avionics Ground and Test Equipment III Verified today
Role
You will design and deliver avionics ground and test systems supporting engineering development and production within the Avionics and Control Products organization. Working across systems engineering, you will define requirements, architectures, and interfaces, decompose conceptual systems into hardware and software components, select COTS components, design custom test equipment, and perform integration, test, qualification, and verification of ground and test equipment hardware.
This position is part of the Blue Origin Engines business unit, focused on design, development, manufacturing, and testing of engines and propulsion systems for commercial, civil, national security, and human spaceflight applications.
Responsibilities
- Define requirements, architectures, and interfaces for avionics ground and test equipment
- Conduct make/buy trades for components of avionics ground and test systems
- Design avionics ground test equipment composed of COTS and custom-designed components
- Support integration and test of avionics hardware, software, instrumentation, and harnessing
- Identify anomalous behavior, rapidly determine root cause, and implement corrective action independently or in collaboration with stakeholders
- Validate and verify that avionics ground and test systems meet customer expectations and requirements
- Triage remotely networked systems
Position requires up to 25% travel to rocket engine test sites.
Minimum Qualifications
- B.S. degree in computer engineering, electrical engineering, or similar discipline
- 5 or more years performing electrical design, systems engineering, electronics integration, system validation and verification, networking, scripting, or test equipment design
- Experience working with data communication protocols
- Experience designing signal conditioning and analog-to-digital solutions for hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) test equipment
- Demonstrated ability building trusting and effective working relationships
- Strong organizational, analytical, and digital skills
- Demonstrated track record of resourcefulness working with interdisciplinary and multi-functional teams
- Passion for hands-on problem solving and avionics integration
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience across multiple portions of the product life cycle (Development-Sustainment)
- Experience in technical execution for complex electronics systems
Compensation
Base pay range for Washington applicants: $130,706.00 to $182,987.70. Other site ranges may differ.
