Role Overview
As an Electrical Engineer II in Blue Origin Engines, you will deliver end-to-end electrical engineering solutions for integration, installation, refurbishment, maintenance, and operations. Working under general direction, you will determine technical approaches to moderately complex problems, partner across diverse technical and operational stakeholders, and contribute engineering judgment to supporting disciplines.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, analyze, and implement electrical solutions spanning power distribution, motor/generator systems, instrumentation, and controls
- Independently determine technical approaches and adapt to shifting priorities as part of a small, high-impact team
- Interface with operations, manufacturing, test, and external partners to gather requirements and align on solutions
- Provide engineering input on safety and failure-effects analysis, systems engineering, configuration management, quality, and process development
- Perform troubleshooting and root-cause analysis on electrical and electromechanical systems
- Support preventative and corrective maintenance, including spare parts procurement
- Configure and support basic networking infrastructures
- Apply Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) and de-energization procedures in design and execution
- Design and evaluate electrical systems for hazardous (classified) locations
- Leverage AI-enabled engineering tools to improve analysis and design efficiency
- Document designs, analyses, and decisions for traceability and configuration control
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline
- 3+ years of relevant electrical engineering experience
- Experience with low-voltage and medium-voltage systems, including interpreting analyses and studies
- Functional knowledge of motors, generators, and facility power systems
- Experience with instrumentation and controls, including Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs)
- Hands-on experience with preventative and corrective maintenance, troubleshooting, and root-cause analysis
- Familiarity with Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) and de-energization procedures
- Demonstrated experience working in dynamic, high-energy operational environments
- Excellent verbal, written, and graphical communication skills
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
- Proficiency using AI tools in an engineering workflow
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline
- Experience designing for hazardous (classified) areas (Class I, Division 2)
- Experience with failure investigations
- Hands-on experience with systems engineering, configuration management, or quality processes
- Experience authoring work instructions and developing processes
- Working knowledge of basic networking systems
- Familiarity with relevant codes and standards (NEC, NFPA 70E/arc flash) and PLC/controls platforms
Compensation and Benefits
Base pay range for Washington applicants: $107,136.00 to $149,990.40 per year. Other site ranges may differ.

Paid time off up to four weeks per year plus up to 14 company-paid holidays.
