About the Role

As an Engines Manufacturing Engineer, you will apply standard engineering methods to design, develop, and implement manufacturing and production processes for efficient, economical aerospace production. You'll be responsible for translating engineering intent into fully functional hardware, leading planning and development of engineering artifacts, and ensuring all production processes comply with contract specifications and regulations.

This role is part of Blue Origin Operations, which includes Integrated Supply Chain, Test Operations, Safety, Quality, and Mission Assurance across all Blue Origin facilities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Translate engineering intent, drawings, and configurations into fully functional hardware
  • Support the manufacturing floor in assembly and integration, ensuring compliance with engineering requirements and component acceptance testing
  • Perform hands-on engineering work and serve as liaison between design, test, manufacturing, and operations
  • Develop and maintain manufacturing work instructions for receiving inspection, fabrication, assembly, integration, test, and refurbishment
  • Investigate root causes of discrepancies and implement preventative and corrective actions
  • Create in-build redlines and recommend engineering changes to improve design
  • Troubleshoot and operate equipment as required
  • Perform engineering drawing review and provide final approval for manufacturing
  • Conduct Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA) studies
  • Drive Design for Manufacturability and Assembly (DFMA) across the product life cycle
  • Ensure all work aligns with applicable quality and safety standards (AS9100, ISO 9001)

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial, or Aerospace Engineering from an accredited university
  • 3+ years direct manufacturing and manufacturing engineering experience
  • Understanding of engineering fundamentals for mechanical design and manufacturing, including working knowledge of GD&T
  • Strong written, personal, and technical skills (CAD, scheduling, issue tracking, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Demonstrated ability to create English work instructions for technicians and inspectors
  • Ability to develop processes compliant to industry quality systems such as AS9100
  • Must be able to work weekends and have flexibility to move shifts as needed
  • Must be able to work weekday day shift for training before transitioning to B shift (Monday to Thursday nights)
  • Attention to detail and drive to deliver results

Preferred Experience: Extensive prior experience in high-rate assembly lines for aerospace and/or automotive.

Work Schedule and Location

  • B Shift: Monday to Thursday nights
  • Travel expected up to 10% of the time
