About the role
You'll serve as Financial Business Partner for the Engines Avionics and Control Products (ACP) program at Blue Origin. Your financial expertise will enable development of cost-effective avionics and control systems critical to reducing launch costs and expanding access to space.
You'll provide comprehensive financial analysis and strategic guidance to ACP program leadership, partnering with engineering, manufacturing, procurement, supply chain, and test operations teams. Your work will directly impact Blue Origin's ability to make spaceflight more affordable and accessible.
What you'll do
- Lead program financial management, including budget tracking and financial forecasting
- Develop and maintain sophisticated cost models for R&D and production environments
- Coordinate cross-functional financial reviews and guide strategic resource allocation
- Mentor junior analysts and coordinate workstreams across finance projects
- Analyze production efficiency metrics and R&D investment returns to optimize spending
- Create and present executive-level financial analysis for leadership decision making
- Design and implement financial controls and reporting systems for program governance
- Pioneer new financial methodologies using AI and advanced analytics tools
- Oversee financial risk assessment and mitigation strategies across the engines portfolio
- Drive continuous cost improvement initiatives through data-driven recommendations
- Manage complex financial planning processes across R&D and production activities
What you'll need
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, Economics, or STEM field
- 8 or more years of financial analysis experience
- Experience with data mining and SQL
- Advanced Excel skills and ability to develop complex financial models
- Proficiency in ERP tools, financial databases, and accounting software
- Strong written communication and presentation skills
- Experience helping business leaders meet financial targets and deliver results
- Understanding of underlying business processes and impact of financial decisions
- Strong collaboration, communication, and influencing abilities
- Effective project management and prioritization skills
- Excellent analytical, strategic, and critical thinking
- High integrity, ethics, and judgment
Desired qualifications
- Master's degree in a relevant field
- Proficiency in Python and workflow automation tools (Alteryx, Databricks, Tableau Prep)
- Proficiency in Tableau or Microsoft BI
- Experience in financial management of high-rate production
- Experience in industrial, manufacturing, engineering, or technology sectors
- Experience leading or championing AI tools for financial analysis and process improvement
Compensation and location
Base pay range for Washington applicants: $104,027.00 - $145,637.10. Other site ranges may differ.
This role is based in Renton, WA and is part of Blue Origin corporate functions providing centralized support across business units.
