Fluids Analyst II - Lunar Permanence Verified today
About the Role
This position is part of the Lunar Permanence business unit, developing Blue Origin's Blue Moon landers and related products. You will work as part of a team of specialists, technicians, and engineers to design, analyze, build, test, integrate, deliver, and operate fluids and propulsion subsystems on lunar landers.
Key Responsibilities
- Generate and run thermo-fluids models of cryogenic propellant in spacecraft
- Provide guidance on optimizing hardware configuration, mission conops and control logic
- Quantitatively evaluate alternative trade studies and provide recommendations
- Work with cross-functional teams to advance the state of the art of in-space cryogenic fluid management
Required Qualifications
- B.S. degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, or related field
- 3+ years of experience in thermal fluids analysis and mechanical component design
- Proficiency in Thermal Desktop FloCAD and Sinda/Fluint with strong FORTRAN user-logic skills
- Deep understanding of Fluid Mechanics, Heat Transfer, and Thermodynamics
- Hands-on experience with first-order and Excel-level fluids calculations
Desired Qualifications
- Advanced Engineering degree
- Prior spacecraft fluid systems experience
- CFD expertise (ANSYS Fluent, FLOW3D)
- Fluid network analysis tools (AFT Arrow/Fathom)
- Experience with cryogenic, two-phase, and gaseous fluid systems
- Hydrogen and oxygen systems background
- Process automation scripting skills (VBA, MATLAB, Python, FORTRAN)
Work Details
- 1st Shift: 8am to 5pm
- Occasional travel up to 15% of the time

Compensation and Benefits
Base Pay Range for Colorado applicants: $133,500.00 to $186,898.95. Other site ranges may differ.
