You will work with software engineers and cross-functional discipline teams to define autonomy systems and software that directly impact lunar missions. You will collaborate with flight software, guidance, navigation and control, and systems teams to develop reliable, safe landing systems.

Responsibilities

  • Independently develop state machine definitions (Simulink/Stateflow) for assigned subsystems such as single actuators or sensor chains under general supervision.
  • Write and maintain software requirements, verification plans, and test cases for owned scope.
  • Participate in fault management discussions and contribute to FMEA-driven requirements for assigned subsystems.
  • Support HIL/SIL test setup and execution; author test procedures independently.
  • Work directly with flight software, guidance/navigation/control, or controls engineers on requirements flowdown for assigned interfaces.
  • Develop tool, test, and verification software as needed.

  • 2-5 years professional experience.
  • Experience with C/C++ or Python scripting.
  • Demonstrated experience developing software requirements and test cases.
  • Hands-on experience with state machine definition, controls theory, or MATLAB Simulink (Stateflow exposure preferred).
  • Experience working on a cross-functional engineering team.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.

Desired Qualifications

  • Direct experience building state machine logic for actuator management, initialization sequences, or fault response.
  • Experience with HIL/SIL test tools.
