Laser Operator - In Space Valves Verified today
About this role
You will operate robotic weld systems and precision equipment in the manufacturing and integration of in-space valves. You'll work within Blue Origin Operations, supporting integrated supply chain, test operations, safety, and quality across all facilities.
What you will do
- Operate robotic weld systems and setup new production work areas with layouts, tooling, and equipment
- Perform second party verifications and hardware inspections against engineering models, drawings, specifications, and work instructions
- Troubleshoot, diagnose, and correct discrepancies through modification, rework, repair, and maintenance
- Perform root cause analysis and implement corrective actions for recurrence control
- Operate material handling equipment including forklifts, overhead cranes, aerial lifts, and truck-trailer combinations
- Setup and operate precision calibrated tools such as torque wrenches, micrometers, calipers, depth gauges, and optical measuring instruments
- Perform routine maintenance including 5S, FOD, and safety-focused work area cleanup
- Other duties as assigned to support the mission
Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- 2+ years of experience in automated welding equipment
- Experience in manufacturing, integration, or another relevant field
- Ability to interpret engineering models, drawings, specifications, written work instructions, and test procedures
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Basic computer skills in Windows and Microsoft Office
- Ability to perform repetitive physical tasks including climbing ladders/stairs, lifting items up to 50 lbs, and blending welds
- Ability to work any shift, extended overtime hours, and weekends as directed
- Self-sufficient, self-starter mentality with strong work ethic and attention to detail in fast-paced dynamic environments
- Metallurgical knowledge
- Expert-level ability to fabricate and use hand tools
Preferred Qualifications
- Industry certification, trade school training, or degree in related field
- Extensive experience in aerospace manufacturing environments
- Experience fabricating jigs and fixtures for complex aerospace components
- Advanced knowledge of tube bending, facing, and cleaning techniques
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot complex issues
- Military experience
- Familiarity with aerospace cleanliness standards and compliant workspace maintenance
- Lean Manufacturing and/or Six Sigma certification
- Willingness to work overtime
Work Schedule and Location
- Greater Seattle Area
- Shifts available: Monday-Thursday, 5:00 AM to 3:30 PM
- Travel expected up to 5% of the time
- Relocation provided
- Multiple positions available
Compensation
Base pay range for Washington applicants: $32.15 to $45.00 per hour. Other site ranges may differ.
Requirements
