About the Role

Join Blue Origin Operations as a Lunar Planner/Scheduler. You will create, analyze, and communicate detailed production schedules using industry-standard software, directly impacting the safety and efficiency of space vehicle manufacturing. Work with Manufacturing Leaders, Engineering, Supply Chain, and Production Control to ensure work is planned efficiently with all risks identified.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop production schedules and manufacturing plans based on program schedule, customer requirements, labor availability, machine capacity, and lead times.
  • Proactively identify schedule risks and constraints; communicate status clearly to leadership before issues impact milestones.
  • Maintain schedule baseline integrity and manage formal change control for schedule revisions.
  • Manage production schedules across multiple programs; provide Production Control with detailed information on work center capacities and performance.
  • Mentor and develop less experienced planners; elevate team-wide technical proficiency.
  • Support scheduling needs on other programs as team priorities shift.
  • Evaluate program scope and create tactical schedules using MS Project and Primavera P6.
  • Exercise judgment on schedule detail levels in coordination with Program teams.
  • Identify bottlenecks and analyze schedule recovery solutions using forward and reverse scheduling.
  • Coordinate with production teams to understand manufacturing constraints and schedule work accordingly.
  • Liaise across Program Management, Quality Assurance, Manufacturing, Purchasing, and Engineering to ensure specifications and timely schedules.
  • Apply digital tools and automation (including AI) to eliminate repetitive work and maximize impact on high-priority scheduling.
  • Balance quick-turnaround requests with sustained long-range program execution.
  • Provide regular management updates on production priorities.
  • Maintain visual management boards with current job and program status.
  • Perform schedule and scope variance analysis; review MRP execution.
  • Ensure Operations schedule, Program schedule, and Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) alignment.

Required Qualifications

  • BA/BS in Production Management, Business Management, Industrial Engineering, or Supply Chain Management preferred.
  • 2-10 years recent production control planning and scheduling experience in aerospace manufacturing.
  • Ability to read and understand technical documents, blueprints, and schematics.
  • Experience creating and maintaining schedules using Critical Path Method (CPM) in MS Project or Primavera P6.
  • Demonstrated digital fluency: experience adopting new software tools or automating manual processes (macros, scripting, AI tools, workflow applications).
  • Ability to work full-time schedule, including occasional travel, overtime, or on-call work.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted as a refugee or granted asylum.
  • Ability to earn trust, maintain positive professional relationships, and contribute to a culture of inclusion.

Desired Skills and Experience

  • Manufacturing Lead, supplier management, or program management experience.
  • First-time build or low-rate initial production (LRIP) experience.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Schedule risk analysis experience (e.g., Monte Carlo simulation, schedule risk assessment tools).
  • Advanced computer skills with Scheduling Software, MS Excel, Power Query, SQL, MS Office, Databricks, and ERP/MRP/MES systems.
  • Experience training and onboarding new planners.
  • Understanding and application of continuous improvement methodologies (Lean, Six Sigma, DFSS, Value Stream Mapping, Kanban).
  • Earned Value Management (EVMS) familiarity.

Working Conditions
