About the Role
This position is part of Blue Origin Operations, supporting Integrated Supply Chain, Test Operations, Safety, Quality, and Mission Assurance across all Blue Origin facilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Evaluate manufacturing schedules and coordinate availability and controlled flow of materials and services to meet customer requirements
- Release and close shop orders in MRP system and reconcile parts
- Provide detailed status reports on work in progress, material availability, and communicate schedule constraints
- Prepare work orders for part production based on master production schedule, shop load, and inventory requirements
- Coordinate with warehouse, inspection, quality, operations, purchasing, engineering, logistics, and program teams
- Schedule and expedite parts movement using move orders, stock transfers, and shipping requests
- Work cross-functionally to resolve material shortages with procurement, receiving, quality, and production areas
- Implement and monitor material stocking strategy on production lines and maintain proper floor stock
- Control material access and consumption in manufacturing operations
- Monitor job flow velocity through production and partner with Production to meet schedules
- Monitor disposition velocity of MRB and stranded material
- Enter material transactions in ERP system
- Prepare reports noting shortages and damage
- Process scrap and obsolete inventory from WIP locations
- Prepare for and assist in inventory cycle count reconciliation
- Apply backflush process knowledge
- Work with Production and Materials teams to resolve part discrepancies
- Interface with departments throughout the company as required
Required Qualifications
- 2 or more years of supply chain experience
- Experience with Materials Requirement Planning (MRP)
- Experience with planning and/or scheduling activities
- Experience working with cross-functional teams
- Excellent computer skills with MS Office; ERP experience with MRP execution desired
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Understanding of continuous improvement terminology and tools: LEAN, Six Sigma principles, DFSS, Lean design principles, Value Stream, and Kaizen
- Good organizational skills, ability to work well with others, strong decision-making skills, and ability to think outside the box
Desired Qualifications
- Associate or bachelor's degree
- Flexibility to work varied shifts, overtime, weekends, and occasional travel
- ERP systems experience
- Ability to handle multiple decisions based on workload dispersion, program priorities, and management and customer decisions
- High proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, etc.)
- Strong interpersonal skills with excellent written and oral communication
- Strong math and analytical skills to solve problems
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
Work Environment
Based on job duties, you may work in various areas with exposure to fumes, dust, toxic or caustic chemicals (well below OSHA and ACGIH exposure guidelines), outdoor weather, and moving mechanical parts. You may be part of a hearing conservation program due to noise levels around certain equipment. Appropriate personal protective equipment must be worn as necessary.
