About the Role
Blue Origin Operations seeks a Manufacturing Engineer II to lead the design and implementation of efficient manufacturing systems for Lunar vehicle production. You will ensure stringent quality control throughout production, optimize supply chain logistics, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to streamline operations, reduce costs, and enhance production timelines.

- Shift options: 1st shift (Mon-Fri, 8am-5pm), Shift A (Mon-Thu, 5am-3:30pm), Shift B (Mon-Thu, 3pm-1:30am), Shift C (Fri-Sun, 5am-5:30pm), Shift D (Fri-Sun, 5pm-5:30am)
- Must be flexible to move shifts as needed and work extended hours if required
Key Responsibilities
- Support industrialization of new products in fluids, avionics, optics, antennas, and mechanical assemblies
- Contribute to design for manufacturability (DFM), design for assembly (DFA), and design for test (DFT)
- Translate engineering requirements into robust, repeatable manufacturing processes
- Collaborate with design engineering, quality assurance, supply chain, and production teams
- Develop and maintain manufacturing documentation including work instructions, process flow diagrams, tool designs, and inspection plans
- Evaluate and implement new manufacturing technologies including composites, precision machining, additive manufacturing, and advanced assembly
- Support root cause analysis of process or product non-conformances and develop corrective actions
- Ensure work aligns with AS9100 and ISO 9001 quality and safety standards
- Participate in process FMEAs, risk assessments, and validation of new production lines and equipment
- Identify efficiency gains and cost reduction opportunities
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Electrical, or Aerospace Engineering (or other relevant fields) from an accredited university
- 3 or more years of experience in a manufacturing, industrial, or process engineering role
- 1 or more years of experience creating English work instructions
- Ability to work second shift with flexibility to move shifts as needed
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in high-rate assembly lines for aerospace and/or automotive
- Experience with specialty commodities or technologies: multi-layer insulation (MLI), machining, fluids fabrication, harness fabrication, or composite fabrication
- Working knowledge of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T)
- Experience with bill-of-materials (BOM) and BOM reconciliation
- Prior manufacturing engineering experience in aerospace or automotive
- Knowledge of Lean manufacturing practices and principles
- Experience with AS9100 quality standards
Compensation and Benefits
Base pay range for WA applicants: $91,852.00 to $128,592.45 annually. Other site ranges may differ.
