Blue Origin Operations is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to join our team at our Kent, WA facility. This role supports the industrialization and production of Blue Origin's lunar vehicles, working across multiple shifts with flexibility to move between scheduled hours.

- Shifts available: 1st shift Mon-Fri (8am-5pm), A shift Mon-Thu (5am-3:30pm), B shift Mon-Thu (3pm-1:30am), C shift Fri-Sun (5am-5:30pm), D shift Fri-Sun (5pm-5:30am)

Key Responsibilities
- Support industrialization of new products in fluids, avionics, optics, antennas, and mechanical assemblies
- Contribute to design for manufacturability (DFM), design for assembly (DFA), and design for test (DFT)
- Translate engineering requirements into robust, repeatable manufacturing processes
- Collaborate with design engineering, quality assurance, supply chain, and production teams
- Develop and maintain manufacturing documentation including work instructions, process flow diagrams, tool designs, and inspection plans
- Evaluate and implement new manufacturing technologies and methods including composites, precision machining, additive manufacturing, and advanced assembly
- Support root cause analysis of process or product non-conformances and develop corrective actions
- Ensure all work aligns with quality and safety standards (AS9100, ISO 9001)
- Participate in process FMEAs, risk assessments, and validation of new production lines and equipment
- Identify and complete efficiency gains and cost reduction opportunities
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Electrical, or Aerospace Engineering (other relevant fields may apply)
- 5+ years of experience in a manufacturing, industrial, or process engineering role
- 1+ years of experience creating English work instructions
- Ability to work second shift with flexibility to move shifts as needed and work extended hours if required
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in high-rate assembly lines for aerospace and/or automotive
- Experience with specialty commodities or technologies such as multi-layer insulation (MLI), machining, fluids fabrication, harness fabrication, or composite fabrication
- Understanding of engineering fundamentals for mechanical design and manufacturing including working knowledge of GD&T
- Experience with bill-of-materials (BOM) and BOM reconciliation
- Prior manufacturing engineering experience in aerospace or automotive
- Knowledge of Lean manufacturing practices and principles
- Experience with AS9100 quality standards
Compensation
Base pay range for WA applicants: $112,059.00 to $156,882.60. Other site ranges may differ.
