Role

You will support the development of spacecraft fluids, structural, avionics, and harness designs as part of the Lunar Permanence business unit. This team develops Blue Moon landers and builds sustainable infrastructure to transport crew and cargo from Earth to the lunar surface.

You will play a key role in developing the Lunar Transportation system that will return humans to the Moon and extend human presence permanently beyond Earth.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and evolve design layouts, create and maintain detail part and assembly drawings using CAD and Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) tools
  • Support engineering teams in mechanical layout and detail design for structural, mechanical, fluids and electronic detail parts and assemblies
  • Apply company design, drafting and parts techniques to plan, layout, and maintain engineering design datasets (detail, assembly and installation drawings)
  • Implement engineering and manufacturing standard methodologies to achieve balanced cost, schedule and performance requirements

Minimum Qualifications

  • Associate degree in Computer Aided Drafting and Design
  • 2 or more years of experience in aerospace development or similar industry
  • Proficiency in drawing generation and release processes using Creo Parametric and Windchill
  • Proficiency in standard fits, tolerance stacks, and GD&T analysis (ASME Y14.5)
  • Experience selecting standard aerospace hardware, fasteners, bushings, washers
  • Experience working in cross-functional teams responsible for selecting materials, manufacturing processes, and developing world-class engineered products
  • Excellent attention to detail, task ownership, and willingness to perform all necessary work
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering, or equivalent
  • 4 or more years proven experience
  • Knowledge of standard fluids and avionics components
  • Knowledge of brackets and secondary support structures
  • Experience with harness, tube, and pipe routing in Creo
  • Knowledge of standard installation and fabrication methods of fluid systems (tube stock, fittings, connections, fasteners, welding)

Compensation

Base pay range varies by location:

  • CA applicants: $34.39 to $48.14 per hour
  • CO applicants: $31.53 to $44.13 per hour
  • WA applicants: $34.39 to $48.14 per hour
  • Other site ranges may differ

Employment Requirements
