About This Role

You will lead the Mk1 Vehicle Electrical Harness Design team as part of Blue Origin's Lunar Permanence business unit, which develops Blue Moon landers. This role directly impacts space exploration history and requires dedicated commitment to safe, repeatable spaceflight.

Responsibilities

Scope Definition, Integration and Delivery

  • Own the vehicle harness scope by ensuring cost-effective execution while maintaining control on harness deliverables needed to meet program objectives
  • Identify and manage technical and programmatic risks and opportunities, including technical, scope (cost and schedule), asset and safety risks
  • Track and manage the harness team execution, deliverable schedule and hardware cost
  • Create the framework used to develop and drive collection of project data and use this data to inform and monitor key project metrics
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements

Technical Leadership

  • Develop and oversee the technical plan, ensuring alignment to vehicle system, customer requirements and internal design criteria
  • Own the overall lifecycle of the MK1 vehicle harness scope from development through integration and verification towards long-term cost-optimized production operations
  • Support design configuration development and trade studies
  • Support the assembly and testing of cables and harnesses

Functional Management

  • Oversee the full lifecycle of your employees including talent acquisition, employee development and performance management
  • Foster an environment of continuous growth and learning, ensuring compliance with HR processes and policies

Required Qualifications

  • Proven track record of leading and managing teams to deliver harness or other complex engineering subsystem or products
  • B.S. in Aerospace, Electrical, Mechanical, Physics, Computer Engineering, or related technical subject area
  • 10+ years of experience designing Wire Harnesses for the Aerospace industry
  • Familiarity with Creo, Zuken or Windchill
  • Design for manufacturability experience
  • Project management experience
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate across all levels of the organization

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of harness fabrication and installation processes
  • Experience with launch vehicle or spacecraft electrical and mechanical systems
  • Experience with resource and budget management and reporting
  • Experience with Agile, IMP-level scheduling, risk management, configuration management, requirements management processes
  • Demonstrated ability to lead change and drive continuous improvement

Compensation

Base Pay Range for WA applicants: $150,743.00 - $211,039.50. Other site ranges may differ.
