About the Role

You will develop aerospace multidisciplinary models and simulations to ensure the correctness and performance of flight software for Blue Moon landers. Working within the Lunar Permanence business unit, you will build sustainable infrastructure for crew and cargo transport to the lunar surface.

What You Will Do

  • Develop and integrate multidisciplinary models for multi-vehicle simulation using MATLAB, Simulink, and NASA's TRICK framework
  • Actively develop tools needed to design, build, deploy and support simulation infrastructure
  • Collaborate with GNC and other subsystems and spacecraft systems engineers to support development of low- and high-fidelity plant models
  • Support development, execution and validation of simulations and tools required for verification of functionalities
  • Interact with engineers across disciplines to assist with and ensure validation of models

Minimum Qualifications

  • BS degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Physics, Applied Mathematics, or Computer Science
  • 2+ years of software development and debugging skills, particularly in C/C++, MATLAB, and Simulink
  • Strong fundamentals in rigid body dynamics, fluid mechanics, and first principles physics-based mathematical models
  • Familiarity with auto coding Simulink to C++
  • Familiarity with testing frameworks and Continuous Integration (CI) pipelines such as Gitlab
  • Experience with configuration management
  • Excellent attention to detail and strong task ownership
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum

Preferred Qualifications

  • MS or higher degree in Mechanical, Electrical or Aerospace Engineering
  • Strong debugging skills at the software/hardware boundary and familiarity with software verification approaches
  • Experience developing software for software-in-the-loop (SIL) and hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) testing
  • Experience writing software that efficiently handles production, distribution and storage of large data sets
  • Experience developing and maintaining simulation models including plant physics, sensors, and actuators
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Familiarity with verification and validation of aerospace simulations and models
  • Familiarity with aerospace systems and design
  • Experience using AI to augment workflows, processes, and analysis
