NDT Technician - Computed Tomography (CT) - Level II - B Shift (Second Shift) Verified today

About the Role

Join Blue Origin's Nondestructive Testing team performing development and production activities on spaceflight systems. You will conduct Computed Tomography and Radiographic inspections of flight-critical metallic and composite hardware, directly impacting mission assurance and part integrity.

Responsibilities

• Establish and maintain techniques to properly examine hardware, ensuring adherence to all safety and specification requirements
• Perform Computed Tomography scans and interpret data
• Perform inspections using Digital Radiographic Test (DRT)
• Interpret inspection results and apply acceptance criteria identified on drawings or shop work orders
• Perform all necessary daily, weekly, and monthly process control checks
• Document and organize inspection results
• Interface with Engineers and Managers to describe inspection results

Required Qualifications

• 2+ years of Level 2 experience in non-film radiography (DR or CR)
• 1+ year of Level 2 experience in Computed Tomography
• Must pass Radiographic General Test and Specific Test by week 3 (study materials provided if needed)
• Meet minimum training requirements per NAS-410 in Radiography
• 40 hours of Radiation Safety Training
• 40 hours of Digital Radiography Training
• Qualify to certify to Level II status per NAS-410 in Non-Film Radiography with minimum 800 documented hours
• Near Vision: 20/25 (Snellen) at 16 inches or Jaeger No. 1 at not less than 12 inches
• Color Perception: 14 Plate Ishihara Color Test with minimum 12 panels correctly identified
• Familiar with ASTM E1695, E1742, E2445, and E2698 standards
• Experience operating NDT inspection equipment and radiation safety equipment
• Ability to determine optimal inspection parameters per defined techniques and system calibrations
• Experience analyzing data from metallic and composite structures
• Ability to read and understand blueprints and schematic diagrams
• MS Office products experience required
• Willing to work overtime, weekends, and off-shifts as needed
• Ability to lift and transport parts and inspection equipment within OSHA requirements
• Experience in both lab and field inspection environments
• U.S. citizen, national, permanent resident, refugee, or asylee

Desired Qualifications

• Experience in composites inspections
• Volume Graphics experience
• State or ASNT/IRRSP card certification as radiographer for X-ray
• NAS-410 training in Ultrasonics, Eddy Current, Liquid Penetrant, or Magnetic Particle
• Certification in Ultrasonics, Eddy Current, Liquid Penetrant, Magnetic Particle, Infrared, Terahertz, or Laser Shearography
• Training in Computed and Digital Radiography
• Advanced Phased Array Training
• Knowledge of industry NDT standards
• Production environment experience, preferably aerospace
• Experience with automated or robotic inspection equipment
• 1+ years of aerospace experience

Work Schedule

B Shift (Second Shift): Monday through Thursday, 4:00 PM to 2:30 AM
