NDT Technician - Computed Tomography (CT) - Level II - C Shift (Weekend Day Shift) Verified today
Role
You will perform Computed Tomography scans and Digital Radiographic inspections of flight-critical metallic and composite flight hardware and test samples. Working as part of a nondestructive testing specialist team, you will assure part integrity, quality and life span across Blue Origin's spaceflight systems.
Responsibilities
- Establish and maintain techniques to properly examine hardware, ensuring adherence to all safety and specification requirements
- Perform Computed Tomography scans and interpret data
- Perform inspections using Digital Radiographic Test (DRT)
- Interpret inspection results and apply acceptance criteria identified on drawing or shop work order
- Perform all necessary daily, weekly, monthly process control checks
- Document and organize inspection results
- Interface and communicate with Engineers and Managers to describe inspection results
Required Qualifications
- 2+ years of Level II experience in non-film radiography (DR or CR)
- 1+ year of Level II experience in Computed Tomography
- Must pass Radiographic General Test and Specific Test by week 3 (study materials provided if needed)
- Meet minimum training requirements per NAS-410 in Radiography
- 40 hours of Radiation Safety Training
- 40 hours of Digital Radiography Training
- Qualify to certify to Level II status per NAS-410 requirements in Non-Film Radiography with minimum 800 hours documented experience
- Near Vision: 20/25 (Snellen) at 16 inches or Jaeger No. 1 at not less than 12 inches
- Color Perception: 14 Plate Ishihara Color Test with minimum 12 panels correctly identified
- Familiar with ASTM E1695 (CT System Performance), ASTM E1742 (Radiographic Examination), ASTM E2445 (CR System Evaluation), ASTM E2698 (Digital Detector Arrays)
- Experience operating NDT inspection equipment and radiation safety equipment
- Ability to determine optimal parameters per defined techniques and system calibrations
- Experience analyzing data from metallic and composite structures
- Ability to read and understand blueprints and schematic diagrams
- MS Office products experience required
- Must be willing to work overtime, weekends and off shifts as needed to meet critical deadlines
- Ability to lift and transport parts and inspection equipment within OSHA requirements
- Experience in both lab and field inspection environments

Desired Qualifications
- Experience in composites inspections
- Volume Graphics experience
- State or certifying entity card (ASNT, IRRSP) as radiographer for X-ray
- NAS-410 training in Ultrasonics, Eddy Current, Liquid Penetrant, Magnetic Particle
- Certification in one or more of: Ultrasonics, Eddy Current, Liquid Penetrant, Magnetic Particle, Infrared, Terahertz, or Laser Shearography per NAS-410
- Training in Computed and Digital Radiography
- Advanced Phased Array Training
- Knowledge of industry NDT standards
- Production environment experience, preferably aerospace
- Experience with automated or robotic inspection equipment
- 1+ years aerospace experience
Shift
Friday to Sunday, 5:00 PM to 5:30 AM (Weekend Day Shift / C Shift)
