NDT Technician - Computed Tomography (CT) - Level II - D Shift (Weekend Night Shift) Verified today
Role Overview
As an NDT Technician Level II, you will perform development and production activities using Nondestructive Testing methods for various spaceflight systems. You will contribute to assuring part integrity, quality, and lifespan through Computed Tomography and Radiographic inspections of flight-critical metallic and composite hardware and test samples.
Shift
D Shift: Friday to Sunday, 5:00 PM to 5:30 AM
Responsibilities
- Establish and maintain techniques to properly examine hardware, ensuring adherence to safety and specification requirements
- Perform Computed Tomography scans and interpret data
- Perform Digital Radiographic Test (DRT) inspections
- Interpret inspection results and apply acceptance criteria from drawings or shop work orders
- Perform daily, weekly, and monthly process control checks
- Document and organize inspection results
- Communicate inspection results and findings to Engineers and Managers
Required Qualifications
- 2+ years Level 2 experience in non-film radiography (DR or CR)
- 1+ year Level 2 experience in Computed Tomography
- Must pass Radiographic General Test and Specific Test by week 3 (study materials provided)
- Meet minimum training requirements per NAS-410 in Radiography
- 40 hours Radiation Safety Training
- 40 hours Digital Radiography Training
- Qualify to certify to Level II status per NAS-410 requirements in Non-Film Radiography with minimum 800 hours documented experience
- Meet minimum vision requirements: Near Vision 20/25 (Snellen) at 16 inches or Jaeger No. 1 at not less than 12 inches; Color Perception 14 Plate Ishihara Color Test with minimum 12 panels correctly identified
- Familiar with ASTM E1695 (CT System Performance), ASTM E1742 (Radiographic Examination), ASTM E2445 (CR System Stability), and ASTM E2698 (Digital Detector Arrays)
- Experience operating NDT inspection equipment and radiation safety equipment
- Ability to determine optimal parameters per defined techniques and system calibrations
- Experience analyzing data from metallic and composite structures
- Ability to read and understand blueprints and schematic diagrams
- Experience with MS Office products required
- Willing to work overtime, weekends, and off-shifts to meet critical deadlines
- Ability to lift and transport parts and inspection equipment within OSHA requirements
- Experience in both lab and field inspection environments
Desired Qualifications
- Experience in composites inspections
- Volume Graphics experience
- State or certifying entity card (ASNT, IRRSP) as a radiographer for X-ray
- Ability to meet minimum training requirements per NAS-410 in other methods: Ultrasonics, Eddy Current, Liquid Penetrant, Magnetic Particle
- Ability to certify in Ultrasonics, Eddy Current, Liquid Penetrant, Magnetic Particle, Infrared, Terahertz, or Laser Shearography per NAS-410
- Training in Computed and Digital Radiography
- Advanced Phased Array Training
- Knowledge of industry NDT standards
- Experience in production environment, preferably aerospace
- Experience with automated or robotic inspection equipment
- 1+ years aerospace experience
