NDT Technician - Radiography (RT) - Level II - A Shift Verified today

Role

As a Level II NDT Technician specializing in Radiography, you will perform development and production nondestructive testing activities on various spaceflight systems. You will inspect flight-critical metallic and composite hardware and test samples, ensuring part integrity, quality, and lifespan through radiographic examination.

Shift

  • A-shift: Monday-Thursday, 6:00 AM to 4:30 PM

Responsibilities

  • Establish and maintain techniques to properly examine hardware, ensuring adherence to all safety and specification requirements
  • Perform inspections using Digital Radiographic Test (DRT)
  • Interpret inspection results and apply acceptance criteria identified on drawing or shop work order
  • Perform all necessary daily, weekly, monthly process control checks
  • Document and organize inspection results
  • Communicate inspection results with Engineers and Managers

Required Qualifications

  • 2+ years of Level 2 experience in non-film radiography (DR or CR)
  • Must pass Radiographic General Test and Specific Test by week 3 (study materials provided if needed)
  • State or certifying entity card (such as ASNT, IRRSP) as X-ray radiographer
  • Meet minimum training requirements per NAS-410 in Radiography
  • 40 hours of Radiation Safety Training
  • Qualify to certify to Level II status per NAS-410 requirements in Non-Film Radiography with minimum 800 documented hours
  • Vision requirements: Near Vision 20/25 (Snellen) at 16 inches or Jaeger No. 1 at 12+ inches; Color Perception 14-plate Ishihara test with minimum 12 panels correctly identified
  • Familiarity with ASTM E1742 (Radiographic Examination), ASTM E2445 (CR System Performance and Stability), and ASTM E2698 (Digital Detector Arrays)
  • Experience operating NDT and radiation safety equipment
  • Ability to determine optimal inspection parameters per defined techniques and system calibrations
  • Experience analyzing data from metallic and composite structures
  • Ability to read and understand blueprints and schematic diagrams
  • MS Office experience required
  • Willingness to work overtime, weekends, and off-shifts as needed
  • Ability to lift and transport parts and equipment within OSHA requirements
  • Experience in both lab and field inspection environments
  • Must be U.S. citizen, national, permanent resident (current Green Card), or lawfully admitted as refugee or granted asylum

Desired Qualifications

  • Eddy Current and Fluorescent Penetrant experience
  • 40 hours of Digital Radiography or Computed Radiography training
  • NAS-410 minimum training in Ultrasonics, Eddy Current, Liquid Penetrant, or Magnetic Particle
  • Certification in Ultrasonics, Eddy Current, Liquid Penetrant, Magnetic Particle, Infrared, Terahertz, or Laser Shearography per NAS-410
  • Computed and Digital Radiography training
  • Advanced Phased Array training
  • Knowledge of industry NDT standards
  • Production environment experience, preferably aerospace
  • Automated or robotic inspection equipment experience
  • 1+ years aerospace experience
