Role Overview

You will provide hands-on support to engineering and manufacturing by assembling, testing, and troubleshooting electro-mechanical systems. Your work will focus on New Glenn avionics assemblies and components during development, testing, and flight production. You will work in both laboratory and manufacturing floor environments, performing soldering, mechanical assembly, wiring, and functional testing on mission-critical systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Build components and assemblies for New Glenn Avionics across development, test, and flight environments.
• Assemble new and updated designs by working directly with engineering to optimize assembly methods and production processes.
• Provide regular input on manufacturing improvements and design changes to increase efficiency.
• Perform testing, checkout, and troubleshooting on electrical and mechanical assemblies.
• Inspect and certify work to relevant standards and specifications.
• Fabricate, terminate, and repair wire harnesses and electrical connections.
• Apply and remove polymerics including staking, potting, encapsulation, and conformal coating.

Minimum Qualifications

• 2 or more years' experience in Aerospace Avionics or related fields.
• Hands-on experience with standard electronics assembly tools, hand soldering, and basic electronic test equipment (multimeters and power supplies).
• Experience fabricating, terminating, and repairing wire harnesses.
• Experience applying torque to fasteners and components.
• Familiarity with ESD EPA procedures and tool control/accountability processes.
• Experience inspecting and certifying work to relevant standards and specifications.
• Experience with application and removal of polymerics (staking, potting, encapsulation, and conformal coating).
• Ability to lift 50 lbs.
• Ability to work a 40-hour work week with occasional overtime to support launch schedules.
• Attention to detail and passion for space.
• Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted as a refugee or granted asylum.

Preferred Qualifications

• 3-5 years of experience in launch vehicle or propulsion system assembly, precision assembly, and component installation.
• Experience with energized power/high voltage systems, battery systems, RF assemblies, and optical systems.
• IPC standards certification and knowledge of assembly and inspection practices.
• J-STD/J-STD Space, 610, and 620/620 Space Addendum certification.
• Experience with Microsoft Office Suite, electronic work orders, and configuration management systems.
• Experience documenting non-conformances and carrying out dispositioned repairs.

Location and Schedule

Greater Seattle Area. Work schedule is 4x10 hours with occasional overtime to support launch schedules.

Compensation

Base pay range for WA applicants: $29.91 to $41.87 per hour. Other site ranges may differ.
