About this role
As a Non Destructive Test Inspector II, you will perform Penetrant Test (PT) inspections on various spaceflight systems as part of a technical team committed to safe, reusable space vehicles. You will directly impact the integrity and safety of hardware used in space exploration.
What you will do
- Perform inspections using Penetrant Test (PT) inspection method on spaceflight hardware
- Establish and maintain techniques to properly examine hardware, ensuring adherence to all safety and specification requirements
- Interpret inspection results and apply acceptance criteria from engineering drawings and work orders
- Perform all necessary daily, weekly, and monthly process control checks
- Document and organize inspection results
- Communicate inspection results to Engineers and Managers
- Successfully pass the General and Specific exam within the first 30 days of employment
- Successfully pass the POD and Practical within the first 90 days of employment
What we need from you
- 2 or more years of Level 2 experience in Fluorescent Penetrant Inspection method
- Must meet minimum training requirements per NAS-410 in Penetrant Testing
- Ability to qualify to certify to Level II status per NAS-410 requirements in Liquid Penetrant with a minimum of 400 hours documented experience
- Familiar with ASTM E1417 Standard Practice for Liquid Penetrant Testing
- Visual Weld Experience
- Minimum Vision Requirements: Near Vision either 20/25 (Snellen) at 16 inches or Jaeger No. 1 at not less than 12 inches; Color Perception 14 Plate Ishihara Color Test with minimum of 12 panels correctly identified
- Ability to determine optimal parameters per defined techniques and system calibrations for inspection activity
- Ability to read and understand blueprints and schematic diagrams
- Experience with MS Office products
- Ability to lift and transport parts and inspection equipment within OSHA requirements
- Experience in both lab and field inspection environments
- Must be willing to work overtime, weekends, and off shifts as needed to meet critical deadlines
- Must pass General and Specific exams by week 3
Desired experience
- Experience in low rate, high mix production environment, preferably in aerospace
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes including welding, additive manufacturing, forgings, castings, and composites fabrication
- Experience in other inspection methods including Eddy Current, Digital Radiography, Computed Tomography, or Ultrasonic

Base Pay Range for WA applicants: $32.15 to $45.00 per hour. Other site ranges may differ.
