About the role

This position is part of Blue Origin Valves Operations, supporting quick disconnect valves used throughout Blue Origin products. You will manage demand signals and material availability to sustain production entry rates, serving as the day-to-day production control presence on the floor. You will partner directly with shift leaders and managers to identify and resolve constraints before they impact exit rates. This is a hands-on role requiring both computer work and time on the manufacturing floor, suited for someone early in their production control or supply chain career who wants to develop deep expertise in aerospace hardware flow.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor and manage demand signals to ensure material availability aligns with planned production entry rates for quick disconnect valve and umbilical product lines
  • Track work-in-progress (WIP) status across assigned product lines and communicate part availability, schedule risks, and constraint status to shift leaders and managers in real time
  • Prepare and release work orders in the ERP system aligned to the production schedule; reconcile and close orders upon completion
  • Maintain floor stock levels and kitting accuracy for assigned build lines; coordinate replenishment to prevent line stoppages
  • Expedite shortages and coordinate with procurement, receiving, and quality to resolve part discrepancies and hold material in a timely manner
  • Support shift leaders and managers in ensuring smooth workflow across the production line by identifying bottlenecks, flagging capacity constraints, and escalating unresolved issues appropriately
  • Enter material transactions in the ERP system (issues, transfers, receipts, and consumption), maintaining transaction accuracy and audit trail
  • Participate in cycle counts and assist in inventory discrepancy resolution for assigned areas
  • Support exit rate performance by coordinating interdepartmental activity to keep jobs moving through the production sequence on schedule
  • Coordinate with warehouse, inspection, quality, operations, and engineering to resolve day-to-day material and scheduling issues

Minimum qualifications

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple open items simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work effectively with production teams on the manufacturing floor
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • Basic proficiency in computers for tracking, analysis, and reporting
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident, or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum

Preferred qualifications

  • Associate or bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, or related discipline

  • Experience supporting production entry and exit rate tracking in a manufacturing environment
  • Familiarity with aerospace or precision hardware manufacturing processes
