Quality Engineer III - Lunar B-Shift Verified today
The Role
You will establish, implement, maintain, and enforce quality system processes that support products in a production environment. Measure, analyze, and improve quality system performance consistent with organization quality goals. Integrate quality system applications between engineering, manufacturing, and operations to ensure the consistent and ongoing use of quality best practices. Facilitate troubleshooting of quality issues with diverse teams and lead causal analysis activities to drive to root cause and corrective action.
You will perform reviews and approve manufacturing build documents including work orders and nonconformance records. Perform periodic audits of the application of quality systems in accordance with AS9100. Recommend initiatives and changes that will improve product and system quality, and provide quality assurance subject matter expertise to inspection, manufacturing and test. Interface with internal and external customers on quality related concerns and develop training materials to build quality awareness.
You will report directly to the Quality Engineering Manager and work as part of a diverse team of Quality Engineers supporting all aspects of developing, testing and launching space systems.
Schedule
- Monday-Thursday 3PM-1:30AM
- Shift flexibility required to align with changes in business need
- Ability to support manufacturing schedules (first, second, weekend shift) and extended hours as needed
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Science
- 5 or more years' proven experience in a Quality Engineer role in a production environment
- Familiarity with AS9100 or ISO9000 QM System and/or related quality systems and programs
- U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum
Desired Qualifications
- Experience in Aerospace, spacecraft processing, space launch, military/commercial aviation
- Experience with IPC J-STD-001 (Space Addendum)
- Experience with IPC 620 standard (IPC-WHMA-A-620)
- Experience in GD&T fundamentals
- Experience with quality tools such as Lean principles, Six Sigma, root cause analysis and corrective action
- Experience with advanced product quality planning (APQP), process failure mode and effects analysis (PFMEA), control plans, and various problem solving approaches
- American Society of Quality, Certified Quality Engineer certification
- Quality Management System audit experience
- Quality performance measurement analysis capabilities
- Six Sigma Green, Black Belt, or comparable certification
