About this role
This role is part of Blue Origin Operations, within the Safety, Quality, and Mission Assurance team. You will develop reliability engineering processes and products for launch vehicles, spacecraft, and supporting systems. You will work with systems engineering teams to verify compliance with safety and reliability requirements through analysis and test.
What you will do
- Assess reliability allocations and perform trades
- Perform Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA/FMECA)
- Build reliability block diagrams
- Produce hazard analysis
- Conduct Fault Tree Analysis (FTA)
- Verify compliance with safety and reliability requirements by analysis or test
- Help engineers identify design improvements and minimize risk
- Work independently or collaboratively on sophisticated problems across launch vehicles, spacecraft, and landers
Minimum Qualifications
- B.S. degree in aerospace engineering or related field
- Experience performing reliability analyses including FMECA and FTA
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, fluid schematics, and electrical circuit diagrams
- Strong safety and mission assurance fundamentals
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal skills; ability to communicate technical information to non-technical partners
- Ability to form relationships with experts from varying engineering fields and provide constructive feedback about safety and reliability concerns
- Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience developing reliability models of spacecraft, launch site, or launch vehicle systems
- Experience with reliability/life test design, Weibull analysis, stress-strength interference analyses, probability distribution estimation, reliability growth modeling, and probabilistic risk analysis
- Experience with failure rate prediction for electrical components and circuit card assemblies (MIL-HDBK-217F, 217Plus, Physics of Failure or similar)
- Experience using AI/Automation, scripting languages such as VBA and Python to automate processes and analyses
- Experience with software such as Reliasoft, SAPHIRE, or similar
Compensation
Base Pay Range for WA applicants: $99,201.00 - $138,880.35. Other site ranges may differ.
