As a Senior Electrical Engineer at Honeybee Robotics (a Blue Origin company), you will support the development, design, test, and manufacturing of electronic motion control products. You will shepherd multi-board designs from proposal through production, working across proposal support, design reviews, and customer collaboration.

You will take charge of electronic design in project teams, help develop processes, lead design reviews, and collaborate with customers. This includes informal team task management, reviewing peer work, and documenting deliverables to completion.

Responsibilities

  • Electronic architecture development of motor controllers
  • Schematic capture and PCB layout in Altium
  • Technical team leadership

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering
  • 10+ years of work experience in electronic product design
  • Extensive experience with embedded system design, including: Digital, Analog, and Mixed Signal Design
  • Board-level communication interfaces (I2C, SPI, UART, RS-232, RS-422, RS-485, CAN)
  • Controlled impedance for high-speed channel design (SpaceWire, 10GbE, SerDes)
  • Linear and Switch Mode DC/DC Power Conversion
  • Documentation (Test Procedures, Reports, Interface Control Documents, ECOs)
  • Familiarity with Design Analysis and Simulation (WCA/WCCA, Reliability, Radiation, Spice)
  • Familiarity with Cable and Wire Harness Design
  • Familiarity with Signal and Power Integrity (SI/PI)
  • Familiarity with Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC)
  • Extensive experience in prototype development, debug, and test in a lab environment
  • Proven experience crafting and launching products in regulated environments

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience crafting motion control and electromechanical systems for space environments
  • Successful history of leading technical teams and mentoring junior engineers
  • Experience with EEE-INST-002 and radiation-hardness/mitigation
  • Experience with Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA)
  • Experience with generation of technical proposal content and labor/cost estimation
  • Experience with Altium Designer
  • Familiarity with DSP and Microcontroller firmware development
  • Familiarity with FPGA Design (Verilog and VHDL)
  • Familiarity with System and functional requirements generation

Work Details

  • Location: Longmont, Colorado (on-site)
  • Relocation provided
  • Occasional travel expected

Compensation

Base pay range for Colorado applicants: $144,179.00 to $201,849.90. Other site ranges may differ.
