Senior Structural Analyst - Lunar Permanence Verified today
You will work directly with NASA and National Team Partners on the Human Landing System (HLS) Sustaining Lunar Development (SLD) program. You will play a key role in developing the Lunar Transportation system that will return humans to the Moon and extend human presence permanently beyond the bounds of Earth.
Responsibilities
- Analysis from concept to drawing release of fluid and/or pressurized systems designed for Lunar spacecraft applications
- Closed-form and Finite Element analyses development, refinement, validation, and correlation to tests
- Strength checks and analysis report generation
- Test and verification plan and report generation
- Support configuration development and trade studies
- Process and tool development
Qualifications
- Minimum B.S. degree in mechanical, aerospace, civil engineering or physics
- 10+ years structural analysis experience in aerospace, energy or transportation
- Ability to solve static and dynamic structural problems using physics-based analytical methods: hand calculations, in-house tools, and commercial analytical tools
- Experience with FEM software (preference: ANSYS Workbench, NASTRAN)
Desired Experience
- Structural analysis of pressurized systems: piping, ducts, lines, valves, bellows, brackets, supports
- Cryogenic systems or components under extreme temperatures and environments
- Bolted and welded joints
- Manufacturing methods, material selection, testing
- Piping analysis software: Autopipe, Ceasar, or CAEPIPE
- Programming languages: VBA, Python
- CREO Parametric
- Industry experience in aerospace, liquid propulsion systems, oil and gas components, energy, or transportation
- Industry codes or standards: AIAA, ASME, NASA
Compensation
Base pay range varies by location: Colorado $133,500 to $186,898.95; Washington $145,188 to $203,263.20.
