You will work directly with NASA and National Team Partners on the Human Landing System (HLS) Sustaining Lunar Development (SLD) program. You will play a key role in developing the Lunar Transportation system that will return humans to the Moon and extend human presence permanently beyond the bounds of Earth.

Responsibilities

  • Analysis from concept to drawing release of fluid and/or pressurized systems designed for Lunar spacecraft applications
  • Closed-form and Finite Element analyses development, refinement, validation, and correlation to tests
  • Strength checks and analysis report generation
  • Test and verification plan and report generation
  • Support configuration development and trade studies
  • Process and tool development

Qualifications

  • Minimum B.S. degree in mechanical, aerospace, civil engineering or physics
  • 10+ years structural analysis experience in aerospace, energy or transportation
  • Ability to solve static and dynamic structural problems using physics-based analytical methods: hand calculations, in-house tools, and commercial analytical tools
  • Experience with FEM software (preference: ANSYS Workbench, NASTRAN)

Desired Experience

  • Structural analysis of pressurized systems: piping, ducts, lines, valves, bellows, brackets, supports
  • Cryogenic systems or components under extreme temperatures and environments
  • Bolted and welded joints
  • Manufacturing methods, material selection, testing
  • Piping analysis software: Autopipe, Ceasar, or CAEPIPE
  • Programming languages: VBA, Python
  • CREO Parametric
  • Industry experience in aerospace, liquid propulsion systems, oil and gas components, energy, or transportation
  • Industry codes or standards: AIAA, ASME, NASA

Compensation

Base pay range varies by location: Colorado $133,500 to $186,898.95; Washington $145,188 to $203,263.20.
