Role
As part of a hardworking team of varied specialists, technicians, and engineers, you will participate in the development, design, test, and manufacturing of Honeybee Robotics' Motion Control products. Working with other engineering disciplines within the team, you will assist in the architecture development of these systems, deriving and developing requirements, assisting with proposal efforts, analyzing and simulating system performance, and finally verifying that performance on flight articles.
Responsibilities
- Architect closed-loop control systems incorporating motors, sensors, structures, and drive electronics
- Lead program-level requirements development, decomposition, and traceability
- Identify and drive resolution of technical risks and issues across the program lifecycle
- Present technical content to customers and internal stakeholders
- Provide guidance and support on test requirements and associated verification methods
- Collaborate with manufacturing, quality, and test teams to ensure design-for-manufacturability and program success
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited technical college or university in Electrical, Mechanical, or Aerospace Engineering and 8+ years of relevant work experience
- Demonstrated experience delivering functional hardware on schedule
- Experience developing and executing verification and validation (V&V) plans, including test procedures and acceptance criteria
- Experience with requirements management tools (JAMA)
Preferred Qualifications
- 12+ years of relevant work experience
- Experience designing motion control and electromechanical systems for space environments
- Demonstrated experience leading technical teams in product development efforts
- In-depth understanding of motors, gearing, feedback and commutation sensors, and motion control methodologies
- Familiarity with space mechanism standards and best practices (e.g., ECSS, NASA-STD, MIL-STD)
- Experience with motion control design analysis and simulation (Matlab Simulink)
Compensation and Details
Base Pay Range for CO applicants: $110,938.00 to $155,312.85
Relocation provided. Occasional travel expected.
