Sr. DevSecOps Engineer - Lunar Permanence Verified today
About the Role
You will join the Lunar Permanence business unit, which develops Blue Origin's Blue Moon landers for sustainable crew and cargo transport from Earth to the lunar surface.
Working with cyber security experts and cross-discipline engineering teams, you will define compliance processes, inform security standards, and architect CI/CD pipelines for safety-critical software. You will set direction for team goals around product quality and engineering efficiency, and develop long-term strategy for sustained lunar operations.
Responsibilities
- Work with developers to ensure compliance to all relevant security standards.
- Train, guide, and mentor team members on CI/CD best practices from a security perspective.
- Set direction and goals for the team regarding project impact, product quality and engineering efficiency.
- Collect and analyze data to understand and troubleshoot pipeline performance.
- Deeply understand the safety-critical software development process and create tooling to make the process more secure while maintaining efficiency.
Minimum Qualifications
- B.S. or higher degree in computer engineering, electrical engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics, aerospace engineering, or related field or equivalent experience.
- 10 years professional experience.
- Experience working toward CMMC certification.
- Experience implementing and maintaining NIST 800-53 controls.
- Experience developing and owning CI/CD pipelines that deliver high quality work to customers continuously.
- Experience improving stability through monitoring, analysis, thoughtful code reviews, and detailed feedback.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Proven understanding of source control tools and concepts such as git workflows, versioning, branching.
- Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and contribute to a culture of inclusion.
Desired Qualifications
- Experience with Linux, Docker, Continuous Integration and Delivery.
- Experience with scripted and compiled languages such as python, and C/C++.
- Experience with unit testing and test-driven development.
- Experience using configuration as code tools to manage cloud resource and physical workstations (Ansible, Vagrant, Terraform, Kubernetes, etc.).
- Experience with Agile methodologies.
- Aerospace industry experience with safety critical software and/or tools qualification activities.
- Experience with NPR 7150.2D and DO-178C.
Compensation
Base pay range: Colorado applicants $181,626.00 to $254,275.35; Washington applicants $197,529.00 to $276,539.55. Other site ranges may differ.
