This role supports the development and operations of New Glenn, a single-configuration, heavy-lift orbital launch vehicle capable of routinely carrying people and payloads to low-Earth orbit, geostationary transfer orbit, cislunar, and beyond. Its first stage is fully reusable, and the vehicle was designed from the beginning to be human-capable.

You will develop flight software and tools for various spaceflight systems as part of the New Glenn Avionics Software organization. You will be responsible for requirements, design, implementation, integration and testing of various software components and tools critical for the success of New Glenn's mission. Your work will span vehicle avionics and ground systems, directly impacting safe human spaceflight.

Minimum Qualifications

  • B.S. degree in computer science, computer engineering, electrical engineering, aerospace engineering or related subject area
  • 8+ years of experience writing software in C, C++, and Python
  • 5+ years of experience in embedded software, kernel development, BSPs or other systems software components
  • Solid understanding of operating systems and network protocols
  • Experience working with real-time systems and developing software that interfaced directly with hardware and programmable logic

Preferred Qualifications

  • M.S. degree in computer science, computer engineering, electrical engineering, aerospace engineering or related field
  • Experience with safety-critical software development in aerospace, automotive or other industries
  • Working knowledge of control systems

Compensation

Base pay range for Colorado applicants: $181,626.00 - $254,275.35. Base pay range for Washington applicants: $197,529.00 - $276,539.55. Other site ranges may differ.

Requirements

Applicants for employment at Blue Origin must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.
